Ericsson Modeling Days 2016

Kista, Sweden, September 13-14, 2016

Papyrus and Open Source Modeling

Call for Papers

Over the last years, the use of open source modeling and Papyrus has significantly increased in the industry with the result that these technologies are now used in different application domains and contexts to model a broad range of aspects, including information modeling, system engineering, network architecture modeling, business process modeling, and software design. Recently, the Eclipse Papyrus Industry Consortium (IC) was created to lead the development and delivery of an industrial-grade open source model-based engineering solution for companies developing software intensive systems ranging from embedded software development, enterprise software, Internet of Things (IoT) to cyber-physical systems. A main objective of the Papyrus IC is also to contribute to the development of a vibrant modeling community around Papyrus and open source modeling.
The main goals of the Ericsson Modeling Days are
  • Bring together end-users, suppliers, and research/academia to discuss the latest development in Papyrus  and open source modeling technologies
  • Contribute to expanding the modeling community, both inside and outside Ericsson
  • Promote the use of Papyrus and open source modeling as a cornerstone to foster collaborations and enable technology transfer
The Ericsson Modeling Days is open to both Ericsson and invited non-Ericsson people.

Main areas of interest:

  • Modeling technologies
    • Mixed textual/graphical modeling
    • Collaborative modeling
    • Testing models and model-based testing
    • Product Line Management (PLM) and variability management
    • Deployment analysis and design space exploration
    • Standardization
  • Exploratory modeling
    • Model analysis and verification
    • Model execution and simulation
  • Domain Specific Languages (DSL)
    • Advanced technologies to support DSL, both graphical and textual
    • Development of mixed textual/graphical DSL
    • Development of DSL's in different modeling contexts, including  software design, system engineering, network architecture, business process modeling, enterprise architecture, etc
  • Industrial usage of Papyrus and open source modeling tools
    • Telecom, automotive, mechatronics, aerospace
  • Papyrus as a cornerstone to enable collaborations between industry and research/academia and foster innovations and technology transfer

Target audience:  All those working with or interested in Papyrus and open source modeling
