Re: [polarsys-iwg] New updates to Polarsys Infra

We have no set plan, but we do put it on the radar when a) someone opens a bug requesting it or b) there are security fixes or c) there are compelling new features we want to offer to the community and we feel the release is stable enough to deploy.

In this case, 2.10 was released _yesterday_, and I'm not comfortable with using it quite yet. We'll get to it.

That being said, we also check with our friends on the Mylyn project, since they produce connectors for Gerrit (and Bugzilla). Their connector doesn't yet support 2.10. (See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=441011)

There is several features in 2.10 compared to what we have in 2.8.5 at Eclipse, it seems we are many releases behind the latest:
January 27, 2015 - Gerrit 2.10 Released
December 27, 2014 - Gerrit 2.9.4 Released
December 12, 2014 - Gerrit 2.9.3 Released
November 28, 2014 - Gerrit 2.9.2 Released
September 11, 2014 - Gerrit 2.9.1 Released
July 18, 2014 - Gerrit 2.9 Released
July 8, 2014 Gerrit 2.8.6.1 released
May 9, 2014 - Gerrit 2.8.5 Released

It doesn't prevent us from working but we have to be in sync with the latest Gerrit in the context of EGerrit.
Letting the new releases simmer is always a good idea, I was just curious to know if you were planning to upgrade to 2.10 before EclipseCon.

I like to let the new releases simmer a bit (a lot). Are there any immensely compelling features you're looking forward to?

Hi Denis,

The link https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/Documentation/user-review-ui.html is pointing to version 2.10, do you know when we will get to use 2.10 at Eclipse?
(2.10 seems to work well at https://android-review.googlesource.com)

Thanks!

Dominique

Greetings,

I've recently restarted the Polarsys.org server for the following:

- critical OS updates, and new kernel patches.
- new version of Bugzilla (4.4.7)
- new version of Gerrit (2.9.4)

The Bugzilla release is minor; the Gerrit release introduces a new review UI. You can read more about it here:
https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/Documentation/user-review-ui.html

If you have any Infra questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx. To report issues with the Polarsys Infra, please use the Polarsys Bugzilla at https://polarsys.org/bugs (unless of course it does not work, and that is what you're trying to report).
