Gabriele,

We already have a bug report for point 3 (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=41052). You may want to add your comments there. Could you enter your other 3 points into bugzilla. I know we have a lot already but these are all things that should be addressed and it there not in bugzilla, we may miss them.

Michael

Hi all,
first of all i'm basing anything that follows on the 3.0 M3 Build id:
200308281813, then before bothering you with new bugs/enhancements
requests, i see you already have plenty of them, i'd like to know if
there's already any work in progress in the New Synchronize View for the
following points:

1- in the Preferences Team/CVS/Label Decorations, Synchronize View tab
there's still the "Show all synchronization information in a resource
label" checkbox that when checked was producing the sometimes nice to
have [incoming change], etc labels in the old view, but doesn't have any
effect in the new view. Have you any plan to restore its function?

2- Now there's the possibility to have three different looks in the new
view, tree, compressed tree, table. There's the need that the "Toggle
layout..." switch becomes a drop down menu that allows to choose between
the three looks in a single step, instead of having to go into view
preferences to change between tree/compressed tree mode. Or perhaps you
could also add the three looks switch to the view context menu.

3- i badly miss the "remove from view" context menu entry from the old
view. It was much faster and simple to exclude something from the sync
process view than bothering with editing the working set or selecting
the resource to operate on.
Let me explain, suppose you have many changes to commit from which you
want to exclude a few ones, now you have three ways to operate, if i
didn't miss anything:
a- Edit the active working set
b- select all the resource that you want to commit and operate on
them, rather bothersome if those you want to exclude are intermixed.
c- select all the resource that you want to commit, sync on them so
the working set is automatically reduced then select the tree root and
commit
I tried all the ways and i still think that the old way of select those
resources to exclude, exclude them from the view, select the root and
commit is the faster and easier.
Any plan to restore this function?

4- the modified (the small star icon) and the repository decorator (the
small yellow cylinder?) in the sync view lay on top of the outgoing
change black arrow, and in case of additions and deletions almost
obscuring the the "+" "-" signs that may be present in the arrow.
I think that those decorators are redundant and clutter uselessly the
view since if the resource is present in the view it implicitly means
that some change is outstanding and the black arrow itself is enough to
show the type of change that's going in the repository.
What do you think about?

Thanks for your attention, Gabriele.
