Thanks for the patch. I was meaning to provide feedback on your previous
post but I've been so busy I haven't had time to look at it yet. There
should be a bit of a break early next week so I'll have a look at it then
(unless I can find some time sooner).

I've uploaded the final version of my "standard cvs repositories"
patch to bugzilla. It is #28126.
This is functionality we'd like to ship to our users. However, at the
same time we're leery of introducing too much divergence between the
Eclipse from eclipse.org and the one we ship. In some circumstances,
I gather this problem can be solved via extension points -- then the
new code is better insulated. Is that an appropriate approach in this
case?
