CDT builds use the following settings. Should platform builds do something similar?

Abort the build if it's stuck
Absolute
	Timeout minutes

Our Gerrit instance is configured in the way that each job is waiting that all *earlier* started jobs are finished.
This makes sense for some projects but definitely not for the platform - but please comment on the bug.

The only solution is to kill all previously started and "hanging" jobs.
