Re: [platform-ui-dev] Reviewing of the top 50 bugs of Mars priority list

Hi,

Since I won't be able to attend the call, I'd like to express that the bugs/improvements I consider as top-priority for our JBoss Tools use-cases:
* All work around Project Navigator view and working sets in order to get rid of the JDT package explorer view in favour the unified and powerful Project Navigator. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=427897
* Nesting view of projects in Project Navigator: I have something working good (still room for improvements but core part is done and doesn't break anything) currently on GitHub https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-playground#nestor-view-nested-projects . We believe this has high value for modular projects, and we'd really love to make it part of Platform UI. So it would be great if bug 427768 could make it t the roadmap ASAP and if we could start chatting about how getting this piece of code into Eclipse IDE. That's something we will actively support anyway, at Eclipse.org or on our GitHub account.
* Basically every patch I have contributed which is on Gerrit. The fact that we make a patch means that at some time, it has been a top-priority task.

We also have big hopes and already great satisfaction with Easymport: https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-playground#easymport-easy-and-smart-openimport-of-a-project which is about simplifying the import scenario. I don't consider it as mature enough to contribute it but this is really something we wish to have it in Eclipse IDE for Mars release. In best case, we'll be ready to contribute it by M4.

I hope this gives you a clear vision of our goal and the kind of issues we consider as our top-priority.
I'd be glad if we could already start a discussion about concrete technical steps on how to get Nestor in Platform UI.

Cheers,
