Having random things disappear for ones perspective without a clear way to get them back is also confusing.

One option would be to spruce it up so it's obvious something has been uninstalled, and they can just close the views or re-install the component (entire perspectives can disappear as well) or if they've opened the workspace with the wrong install, shut it down and open it with the correct one.

If you want to change the behaviour completely, you'd have to look at some usecases like the above and like how it would work when the user re-installs the component and restarts, etc.
