Re: [platform-ui-dev] Planning and Scheduling of bugs for 4.2.2 - Monday, Oct 22nd
This is a good priority list to start the discussion!

Besides those 4.2.2 bugs, we should also add/discuss the following:

Bug 392418 [Performance] 2-3 seconds latency when selecting an already open file
Bug 391868 very slow switching editors;  especially XML.  (BIG CLUE FOUND HERE)
We have to setup a workspace where we can reproduce this XML editor switching and take a closer look. This should be part of the top ten items I think.

Bug 385272 comment 184: "Switching in window->preferences to "Classic theme" and "Disable animations" bring is to an almost acceptable speed - i can work now." probably needs a closer look and/or be moved into a new bug.

Bug 373294 Improve startup time
Should be part of the list but not very high in the list.

Blockers and critical bugs - we also need to take a look at those:

Bug 387113 Each selection changed is sent out twice
This one is already in the list but rather low (42.). I think we should look at this when we look at the post-selection bug (Bug 391626) since the two are somewhat related or it's even a duplicate.


Just as a rough data pointer: for 4.2.1 (roughly 3 months) we fixed 44 bugs. For 4.2.1 we have roughly the same amount of time left but most of those bugs will be tougher, need time to investigate and complex code to be touched. We should focus on defining the 20 maybe 30 top bugs and then concentrate on those. Once they are done, we can have another call and prioritize the remaining bugs.

I've sorted our 4.2.2 bugs in a preliminary order of priority.  We need to go through them to make sure they're sorted correctly, and narrow down just how many bugs we think we'll address by Juno SR2.
