Both the American Heritage Dictionary and the OED give the edge to 
"adviser", although I must admit that I was surpised they agreed on this 
(i.e., a classic American vs. British thing with us Canadians straddling 
the fence). fyi, Eclipse follows the American spellings.

Lucky for Eclipse users, JDT has code completion and on-the-fly reference 
checking :-)
