[platform-ua-dev] notice about XHTML use in eclipse 3.2

Hi folks,

This is a notice to anyone planning to use XHTML for their documentation with eclipse 3.2.

In order to improve adoption of the new dynamic content feature (which is only available for XHTML, not HTML), Help will no longer require the XHTML files to have a .xhtml extension. You can use .htm and .html, and the dynamic content and searching will work (you still need to bind them to your plugin). However, you should be aware that there is a small performance penalty for placing dynamic XHTML content inside a file that does not have the .xhtml extension, because the system has to open the document to read the DOCTYPE before processing it (to determine whether it's XHTML or HTML). In addition, the XHTML doc conversion tool provided by PDE will no longer rename your files to the .xhtml extension (see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=135663).

Thanks,
