Re: [platform-text-dev] Getting involved, patches
|
Christopher,
as far as I know there are currently no CVS messages being sent out but
listening to bugzilla changes is easy:
1. go to bugzilla
2. start to edit your preferences by clicking "Edit prefs"
3. click the "Email settings" tab
4. enter which users you like to watch (Users to watch), e.g.
"jdt-text-inbox@xxxxxxxxxxx, platform-text-inbox@xxxxxxxxxxx"

[platform-text-dev] Getting

Hi all,
[I'm a bit confused about how contributing to eclipse works. I've been
doing open-source development for some time now, but eclipse seems to be
different in subtle ways...]
Anyway, looking at the archives of this mailing-list, I've noticed that
pointers to contributed patches were sometimes also posted here. I've
recently added two patches to bugzilla bugs:
35550 [printing] simple metadata decorations
42613 [syntax highlighting] Add support for line continuation to
SingleLineRule and EndOfLineRule
#35550 is actually a 2.1 bug, which I believe is still valid for 3.0. I
implemented a simple change to improve the printing support and decided
to attach it as a patch to an existing bug report, as opposed to opening
a new one.
#42613 is important for the editor I'm working on, and is a simple
change that shouldn't cause any headache (IMHO)
I suppose that those involved get notified about all changes in
bugzilla, so this notification is probably quite redundant :-P
On a related note, is it possible for developers outside the "inner
circle" to subscribe to cvs/bugzilla notifications? The "pull" technique
is rather inefficient ;-)
