The used SWT version is very old (3.6). Has somebody of you heard of such an issue in recent versions of SWT Tree or maybe jface TreeViewer? Or is it worth trying to reproduce that issue with the ControlExample app and a current eclipse version?

Hi,
I am not sure which OS you are using, but on the GTK side of things this
bug (and many other Table/Tree bugs) was fixed in Neon (4.6).
As Mickael pointed out on the Platform UI list, upgrading to a newer SWT
version should solve this problem.
