It is language support problem. Eclipse cannot map the unicode to a character. that is the reason you are seeing that. Please raise a bug with a reproducible scenario. Most likely the problem with test box

Friends of SWT,
If i paste text with "special" signs into Eclipse dialogs I get "funny" signs.
For example, if I copy a line from the Eclipse text editor and paste
it into the Search dialog I get the result from the attached
screenshot.
Is that expected or a bug in Eclipse?
