Subject:        [platform-swt-dev]  Repo frozen until?
Sent by:        platform-swt-dev-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx

Hello,

1) Just to clarify:
We're in the release cycle and at the moment, for SWT, no patches are merged into "Master" (unless there is good reason).  I.e, master is 'frozen'.

Will it become unfrozen on June 23rd (after release on 22nd June*1), or will it be unfrozen sooner?

2) Also:
Afaik there is no 'nightly-dev' branch where we can continue to merge patches or anything like that?
If not, it's sort of a bit productivity breaker to have the repo frozen for a month at a time during releases as lots of patches stack up just waiting there.
Is there a reason why we don't have a nightly-dev branch that can be used during release cycle (and merged into master after the release), i.e is the idea that we should use master and stabilise it or is it something that no one got around to setting up?

Thank you
