Thread-topic: Deprecation procedure

Hi everyone,
There is a recent contribution https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/c/17442/2 which marks as deprecated fields that were supposed to be such by reading their javadoc "Not recommended. Use ...". I'm going to accept the contribution but I want to know whether there are more steps needed to do when declaring something as deprecated?
