Re: [platform-swt-dev] SWT Transition Widget - STW proposal

Hi,

Thanks Tom and Bogdan for your kind replies. I'll be glad so glad, of course, to bring it to Eclipse-Nebula. And yes Tom, I'm asking about the link. It would be an honor to have it published here. About the name, STW, you have a good point. I've a kind of philosophy beyond the name. As you can notice, it's the same letters of SWT but with reordering of letters so that it looks like as if the widget has nicely hit the SWT and changed the way it looks and interacts. However, The STW word is not used anywhere in the source code and I think SWT is not a thing that people may miss easily.

Thanks,
ahmahran

Hi Ahmed -

Nice demo! It's not clear if you are asking us to include your code as part of SWT, or if you want us to add a link to your project on our SWT page (http://www.eclipse.org/swt/community.php). If you are asking the former, then maybe the Nebula project would be a better home as it contains a number of custom SWT widgets. If you simply want a link to your project on our page, we would be happy to do that! BTW, the project name might cause some confusion as it is too similar to SWT.

Regards,
Bogdan

Hello,

I would like to know your opinion of a project and to know the possibility of having it published at SWT's site.
STW is a java project to add fancy effects to SWT GUI. Users would enjoy wandering around views with smooth transition effect. Implemented transitions:(3D cubic rotations, translation, fade). No OpenGL just simple calls to GC methods.
You can watch demos at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=2569B36FF288D795
Source code could be found at SourceForge http://sourceforge.net/projects/jstw/
