I'll definitely agree with this.  Someone suggested that Eclipse support the Bean Scripting Framework, so we can avoid the scripting language holy wars.  I wonder if anyone entered a PR for this....

....Kind of.  There's a request for _javascript_ scripting support (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=36163).  I annotated it with a request for BSF support in order to avoid language holy wars....
