You're absolutely right, Scott.

I'm about to publish what is in effect a how-to book on Eclipse (download,
install, write, run and debug a simple application).  There's a chapter on
writing a very simple SWT panel, and that's what got me started on this
rant - it's difficult to do some things I take for granted in Swing.

I suppose after I get the book to print, I can try to do a few smaller
how-tos specifically for the SWT community, but like you I've got a bunch of
irons in the fire.
