There's a long way to go before worrying about this. There can't be any "adoption" until there is a submission. There can't be a submission until there is working code. 

To clarify the above a bit, the code in Bugzilla and in SourceForge CVS works *today* inside SWTworkbench (and has been working for awhile).  However, there have been several good contributions explaining about how it could be significantly improved to better serve everybody's needs, and the Sweet team wants to do that. 

 

Consequently, you're right that there's more that needs to be done before the community will likely feel comfortable with making another submission on the bug report for inclusion into Eclipse.
