Paul,
of course we always welcome good quality contributions. As you can see in
the regular expression feature request
(http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=33115) this has already been
implemented but cannot yet be released into HEAD. There are several other
areas where you can contribute like bug fixing, testing (e.g. write JUnit
tests for the text search plug-in) and implementing new features.
To get started I suggest you either send us patches for existing bugs or
provide JUnit tests for the text search engine.

Hi everyone,
I have recently subscribed to this list, and am interested in helping to
develop
this part of the platform. In particular, I am interested in regular
expression
searching within Eclipse. Is this a subject that anyone is already looking
at?
Any pointers will be gratefully accepted!
