Re: [platform-releng-dev] What are the `eclipse.platform.repository/target/repos` about?

We used to have multiple deliverables example (https://archive.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/R-4.4-201406061215/) these repos used to create separate zip files for those deliverables. All these are installable from the repository and basically redundant.

In the last couple of releases Alex started restructuring these deliverables and got most of them removed.

In the last release when we tried to remove platform, we hit some problems with content.xml in the repository. Since it was too late(we were already in RC phase) for the release we postponed that work.

We can get rid of them and we should, also we need to verify generated repository for any problems

Thanks

Sravan

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [platform-releng-dev] What are the `eclipse.platform.repository/target/repos` about?

Hi all,

I'm looking at way to organize the products and repository build to reduce the amount of modules, or dependency resolutions, or mirroring... See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=571175 .

Looking at the mirror steps, I'm wondering: what are the eclipse.platform.releng.aggregator/eclipse.platform.releng.tychoeclipsebuilder/eclipse.platform.repository/target/repos about? Where are they used? Can we get rid of them?

Thanks in advance,
