Hi Lars,
There are couple of reasons why we are doing like this.
1. Not to overload build infrastructure in case of rebuilds on 4.8
2. In preparation for 4.8 release some house keeping activities are suspended till the final release is out. This causes 4.9-I-builds composite repo to swell. Normally we have about 4-5 builds in composite repo. After we suspend the house keeping activities this will swell causing problems in gerrit builds.
Based on the above considerations I decided to run 4.9 builds every Thursday until 4.8 is shipped.
