Thanks to our world-wide team, a fix has
been committed, and the build will start at 3:30 (Eastern) ... and be there
to greet all the North Americans as they wake :) ... though, the unit tests
won't be complete until noon or so.
Thanks Arun -- even though I've seen
it a hundred times, it always surprises me when fixing one bug, reveals
yet another bug the first one had been hiding! Let's hope this fix doesn't
reveal any others! But, at least M2 is the right time to be having this
sort of problem ... and not nearer the end of the cycle.

My fault ... sort of. I convinced Tom
to fix an issue but neither of us looked at deeper, and realized further
changes needed. See Bug
444051.
Good news is we are finding some subtle problems early!
