We would like to fix 

Bug 434815
- [Mac] Luna M7 doesn't launch without JRE 6, even if JDK 7 is installed
(Platform Runtime Binary & EPP) 

Which has been verified in local test
builds, and trying a test build now on build.eclipse.org. 

Even though it is described as "a
Mac bug", the fix does have potential to effect other distributions,
so some "things to look for" have been spelled out in 
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=434815#c40
(things like eclipse.ini values, if
executables are present and in fact executable, and if delta-pack still
works).
