While this will almost certainly be our
official RC1 contribution, I'd like to 

a) give committers at least a few hours
to check anything that's near and dear to them in RC1 (even though no formal
test) ... I know I want to make sure it at least starts :) 

b) wait until Unit tests from at least
one (or two) platforms finish to make sure no huge breakage. 

I did cancel the tests from the extra
N build from this morning, but these unit tests just started about 1 PM
... so I think it'll be about 6 PM (Eastern) before even one platform finishes
-- and now that I think about it, if it is that late, just as well wait
for all platforms to finish. So, committers have a few hours to yell "stop"
if anything is seriously wrong (but, since just "warmup", it
should be pretty bad ... like data damaging ... before we'd change course).


And as long as no one objects (or has
better idea) I'll wait until unit tests finish tonight and promote this
as official, renamed RC1 tonight ... probably about 8 or 9 PM. 

If I hear no objection to this plan
in next hour or so, I'll give "warning" on cross project list
about 3 PM, just to keep everyone informed.
