Re: [platform-releng-dev] build type for the coming weeks

Yes, let's try going back to nightly N-builds and see what breaks :)
BUT, for a week or two the "content" of the two will be the same. That is, it will still pull what ever is in the "repositories.txt" file. (No custom treatment of "master" vs. "integration" branches).

The advantage if doing N-builds (even if content is same) is that they are not signed, so they are faster. A "signing run" of our current build is actually slightly longer than previous PDE based build (very slightly) each being in the 3 hour neighborhood. From my informal tests, I'd expect the unsigned version to be back down to the speedy 1.5 hours our unsigned PDE builds took.

I'll start the schedule for tonight at 8 PM, but ... fair warning ... there might be some initial odd problems, just with promoting the build, running the tests, etc., since those branches of code are not flushed out yet (meaning, I've not looked at them for a long time).

As far as I know, this is a good time to do it; but I can't emphasize enough -- it is really what you committers want. So, if anyone has a special need for an off-schedule I-build or something (say ... for an EclipseCon demo with a post M6 fix or feature :)  just say what and when and its yours.

Hi,

A couple weeks ago it has been decided to only run I builds.
Is this going to continue? (it is not a problem, I just want to know).

Thx
