That is most likely an oversight. 3.8.x isn't getting a lot of testing, especially the platform runtime binary. Unfortunately we missed the boat for SR2 but it won't be the first time we've had some of those feature numbers out of sync in a maintenance release. The workaround is to take 4.2.2 instead ;)

I’m looking at the platform download for the SR2 candidate (which I assume is http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/M20130131-0800/) and I see that the platform feature version still says 3.8.1 whereas both the rcp and the sdk features now are up to 3.8.2.
Is that expected?
Note that it does not really bother me, I’m just curious
