Re: [platform-releng-dev] status for 3.8M2
|
Hello,
I don't know if this is relevent to you are not, but I filed this bug about a week ago:
Hello,
I can't download the source drops for version 4.1 and 4.2m1. I'm building a deb file builder for Eclipse, so it's kinda vital that I can download the source. I'll look into downloading from the repo directly, but I rather get the source of a labeled build.
2. click on any build (4.1 and 4.2m1 are the ones that I want currently)
3. click on "Access the Source Builds page."
4. click the download link
5. You will get a "Eclipse downloads - file unavailable" page
I'm currently using the 3.7 and 3.8 stuff, which is good enough for the minute, but I thought you might like to know that source for 4.x seems to be unavailable.
Best regards,
David

We would have to talk to the EMF team because the 4.2 build consumes
the corresponding EMF milestone build, and the 4.2 build consumes the 3.8
build. So there may have to be some adjustments in the schedule
to account for this if the PMC decides to move in this direction,
Ideally, we would like to be the 4.2
build as the primary build and the 3.8 build consume the bundles from the
4.2 build. This request is covered here
change primary builder to 4.2

This is my next item to tackle once
our git migration is complete :-)

Milestone week is often pretty fun (minus the hectic build
part -- thanks Kim). Usually a New and Noteworthy gets published,
emails get sent, a few blogs appear and even twitter lights up for a bit.
I wondering if we should hold off until the 4.x milestones
get published now? Of course the releng list can still indicate that
a new build is done, but maybe the announcement to the wider community
should wait a week. This will hopefully help convey that 4.2 is milestone
we want people using.
Thoughts?

Where is the 4.2M2 build?
Whether or not we have a 3.8M2 is probably interesting to us internally,
but not to the world at large, since 4.2 is what we're contributing to
the release train.
Component leads, please get the matching 4.2 build and provide status on
that.
