Be aware of bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=352381 when pushing with eGit. I have noticed some extra developer branches being pushed upstream that I am sure the developers never intended to make available in the main repository.

I'm sure there is a way to configure eGit to prevent this, but I don't know what it is. For now I am far more comfortable pushing, branching, merging and rebasing my commits with the command line.
