Re: [platform-releng-dev] Rebuild request

I think some folks have some confusion on who Pascal got PMC approval to do this respin for a javadoc change. Equinox is under the RT project and as such is under the RT-PMC. The Equinox team leads (Jeff and myself) are on the RT-PMC and are responsible for approving things at the PMC level for the Equinox project.

The Equinox team had a call to discuss this particular bug and we came to an agreement that we should update the javadoc of the MatchQuery API to point clients to what is the optimal way to query p2 repositories. As a member of the rt-pmc I gave approval on the call to do the javadoc change.

[platform-releng-dev] Rebuild request

Yesterday Wednesday, we hastily introduced a new API that we now regret (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=304130).

In order to warn people of the potential removal of this API in further milestones, we are requesting a rebuild to *only* add a deprecation tag in our java doc (see attached patched) so that expectations are set right for our consumers (see the patch attached in
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=305598). This change has been discussed with the team members and the PMC.

The map file has been updated and we are ready for the build._______________________________________________
