Released changes render the milestone candidate completely unusable. As
requested many times in the arch call, components are required to do
minimal smoke testing before doing a build input. This should especially be
honored when contributing to the (targeted) final milestone candidate
build.

In this case those simple smoke test steps would have revealed the problem:

1. start once an existing workspace
==> Boom!

or:

1. start with a fresh workspace
2. add a new project
==> Boom!

Please, do minimal smoke testing for your upcoming changes!
