I'm looking into the User Assistance
test failures right now. There are two utility functions in the org.eclipse.ua.tests
plugin which are responsible for all of the UA failures and recoding these
should enable the tests to run cleanly. The problem is in some code  which
is locating resources (test files) using invalid assumptions. I have all
but two tests passing at present and should be able to get the other two
passing by Monday.

The problem with the failing tests in ant, compare, jdt debug, swt, and
team, is that these test plug-ins do not have a MANIFEST.MF file.  p2
does not currently discover and dynamically install pre-Eclipse 3.0 plugins
that don't have a manifest. We'll be working on a fix for this, but these
teams are also encouraged to join the OSGi world and create a proper manifest
for their test plug-ins. If nothing else, this will make running tests
slightly faster because manifests won't need to be generated on the fly
at runtime. Simply click the "create
an OSGi bundle manifest" hyperlink in the Overview tab of the plug-in
manifest editor.

Some of the test failures involve plug-ins not being found (ant,
compare, jdt debug, swt, team).
 These may indicate test scripts that need updating to use the dropins
folder, or problems with p2 not discovering added bundles on startup.  I
have entered a bug to track these failures:
