Subject
[platform-releng-dev] Compiling Eclipse-3.3.1.1 under Solaris 10 X86

Hi,
I like to compile Eclipse under Solaris 10 X86 since my company switched
the development systems from sparc-architecture to X86.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a package for eclipse-3.3.1.1 and
a "normal" build-process doesn't work well.

I tried to compile eclipse with ant-1.7.0, gcc and java-1.6.

If someone wants to help me I'd glad to try things; I can not give
direct access to the machine (since it is not connected to the
internet). I'd love to write a howto for other persons or offer binary
packages for Eclipse for that platform if anyone could help me building it.

I scripted my compile-process. Under
http://www.rince.de/eclipse-with-java-1.6-and-gcc

you can see the complete output of the compile job, under

http://www.rince.de/eclipse-with-java-1.6-and-gcc-short  I have
summarised the process - only the beginning and the end are there.

Ciao, Hanno
