That's certainly a bug that needs to
be fixed... The only doc I know of for the releng tool appears on the download
page.  The main feature of the tool is the Team > Release menu
item on the context menu of projects.  This opens the release wizard,
which computes the plugins that need tagging, shows a preview of those
changes, shows a preview of the map file changes, and then proceeds with
tagging the projects and updating the map files. The wizard also optionally
computes content for a release notes file. This release wizard is heavily
used and quite reliable.  The copyright tool on the other hand clearly
needs some work...

Is there any online help for the releng tools?

I just tried deploying and using them, but my initial experience was
negative enough to make me very leery of using any tools that might
actually touch CVS.  (See

Wassim, was that the next plague who caused this? ;-) I know that tool
builders don't like to use tools that they didn't build themselves but

can really recommend the Releng Tools to avoid such problems.

I had tagged the pde.map file with a non-existent version.

The problem has been fixed for the 8 am build.
