The problem was simply that the releng tool from "<I20050509-1200" does not 
work with ">=I20050509-1200".  Since the zip file has the same name 
regardless of which build it comes from, it fools my package manager.  This 
leads to exceptions at runtime.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who's bugged by this (but it really bugs 
me!).  <g>
