The best place to ask any question not related to the development of eclipse itself are the newsgroups (see http://www.eclipse.org/newsgroups/index.html) and for your second question, the org.eclipse.platform newsgroup is probably the best place.

I think this is not a *newbie* nor eclipse-user group so please excuse my
questions :-)

- Is there an eclipse user forum/newsgroup accepting even *newbies* ?

- Is it possible to test servlets from within Eclipse and without TomCat
installed on the computer

                 JDK 1.3.1 and 1.4.2
                 Eclipse 2.1
