Re: [platform-help-dev] How to display international characters?

Martha,

1.  Make sure the file is correct, and specifies the character encoding, for example file saved in UTF-8 would contain a line:
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> in the HTML head.

2.  Use news eclipse-platform newsgroup for more questions unrelated to development of Eclipse help system.

3.  Check if https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=72131 has any answers, otherwise open a new bug for help system and attach sample files.

Thanks.

[platform-help-dev] How to display international characters?

Hello,

I have an html file which is encoded with UTF-8.  The file contains Japanese characters.  When I display the file using my default browser (Mozilla), the characters show up correctly. However, when I display the file using the Eclipse help system, the characters do not show up at all.

The same thing happens with Arabic characters.

What do I need to do to show these characters in the online help?

Thank you,

Martha
