org.eclipse.help/banner Re: [platform-help-dev] Hidding the Links tab
|
M4.
Ability to display a custom banner is a feature that has been in place
since long before 2.0, and not for discussion on the development list. If
it does not work in the latest builds, an appropriate thing is to open a
bug.
Thanks.

I have these lines in my plugin_customizatoin.ini:
org.eclipse.help/banner=/com.ibm.dmut.doc_1.0/banner.html
org.eclipse.help/banner_height=45
It works in 2.0.2; however in 2.1 (M4), I get:
Apache Tomcat/4.0.4 - HTTP Status 404 -
/content/help:../content/help:/com.ibm.dmut.doc_1.0/banner.html
type Status report
message /content/help:../content/help:/com.ibm.dmut.doc_1.0/banner.html
description The requested resource
(/content/help:../content/help:/com.ibm.dmut.doc_1.0/banner.html) is not
available.

That should work. At least, if you uncomment the two banner* lines, you get
a banner.
BTW, it is probably better to create your own frameset and embed the
infocenter into one of the frames. That way you have better control on the
layout, including a banner.

Thanks . . .
Is it also a known bug that the banner file isn't displayed (Tomcat 404,
says the file isn't
available), even though the same lines and files worked in 2.0?

Has the preference setting to hide the links tab changed in 2.1 (M4)?
In 2.0, I used: org.eclipse.help/linksView=false
However, this doesn't seem to work in 2.1.
