Thinking about this a bit more - if we went with the breadcrumb trail
approach (concatenated nav strings), and if the same topic appears two or
more times in the nav (which we allow and in some cases recommend), I would
be fine with showing multiple search hits for the same search topic, with
different breadcrumb trails ...

... Ah, but when the same topic appears multiple times in the product nav,
what does the Synchronize button do? If it always takes me to the same
place then I guess the search hit list should use the same logicl. We
wouldn't want the user to choose structure b from a search list, go to the
topic, click Synch, and end up in the nav for structure a.
