[platform-doc-dev] Unable to run examples under Mac OS x

I am completely new to this platform. I am using MacOS X 10.3. I 
installed the program eclipse and downloaded the examples and followed 
the directions in the help to run an example.

I put the line that contains the carbon platform library files in it 
with my install path and the program seems to replace all the periods 
with the "/" character which simply does not work. What am I 
missing????
