Re: [platform-dev] New Website

After incubating this a bit, I think it is best if we first remove old content from the existing site. After that, use Mikaels suggestion to move the remaining valid data to the new website location where we can port content to MD if required.

I have filed: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=572624

I will create individual Gerrits to get rid of old stuff and references thereto.

Cheers,

Wim

Yes, that is an advantage. The disadvantage is that we start with a neglected packed-with-rubbish website we have to clean out instead of starting fresh and cherry-picking the good stuff.

I don't think that it is really critical for a website. If people really want to be able to go through the history then we can archive the old site.

That would mean pulling in all the ancient pages. I'm not sure this is the best solution. Let's think about this a bit.

That would also mean keeping history of the Website, which *might* be useful; especially if we delete too much content later by mistake as part of the migration to markdown/hugo: reverting is still easy when history is still there, more difficult without a history.
