Re: [platform-dev] Has the time come?

Hi,

Just a quick note that content served by https://www.eclipse.org/ (and as such https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/) must currently be hosted on a git repository hosted at https://git.eclipse.org/c/www.eclipse.org. That's how it works.

If you want to move https://git.eclipse.org/c/www.eclipse.org/eclipse.git/ to github, you will need to open a ticket requesting its support.

Some projects (openj9) worked around that by having the site code hosted at github and a job on their jenkins at ci.eclipse.org that push all commits from github to git.eclipse.org/c/www.eclipse.org repository.

Hi,

For the website I am not completely sure on what this entitles. The current build page(and its contents) for platform is of 5.5 GB(approximately). I don’t think I would want this kind if data on GitHub.

Sravan, I think by website it's ment https://git.eclipse.org/c/www.eclipse.org/eclipse.git/ . This is not much edited content which could use a lot of help on bringing it uptodate.

Thanks
Sravan

Hi,

I'm in favor of moving the website if it seems straightforward. For the website, we could even use GitHub issues and shut down the bugzilla component as I don't think there is much substance in the tracked issues.
But I think it would be necessary to have PMC agreeing first.
