Re: [platform-dev] linked resource problem about Eclipse

Shishir,

I tried mapping a subfolder on a network drive (Z:) to a linked resource and had no problems. Perhaps you could provide more details about how this fails for you. Are you using the Advanced section of the New Folder wizard? Does the New folder dialoig used to create the linked folder give you an error when you try to map the subfolder?

Hi

I am using eclipse 2.1 release and have a question about linked resources.
I am working on a project where the source files are kept at the single location on the network and we can build and check the same using the source on our system.
We cannot copy the source on our system but we can keep the class files generated and then use them to test.

The problem is i am not able to properly map the linked resources.Even if i am able to then the mapping does not reflect the actual package listing as available.

for Eg. if i want to map out of

Z:--
   |_cpp
   |_com
   |_src

if i map just com as my folder and give the linked resource the name as com it doesnt work but if i map the whole drive z: as the linked resource the things get ok.

Is there a way i can work around this problem. with not having to map the whole drive as i need to filter the rest which is still unnecessary for me.

Thanks and regards
Shishir
