Re: [platform-cvs-dev] CVSNT and Eclipse 3.1.2 Compatibility

Fran,

When you said you are running CVSNY 2.0.5 did you mean to say 2.5.0 (since to 2.0.5 clearly came before 2.0.58b and is thus not supported)?

From the look of the error, you arre using a drive letter in the path name. This is definitley not supported. CVSNT must be configured to use a repository prefix. You also need to make sure the lcase of all letlers in the path matches that of the server path. Please see the followign link for more details on server compatibility.

[platform-cvs-dev] CVSNT and Eclipse 3.1.2 Compatibility

We are running into an issue with a new installation of Eclipse 3.1.2 where
we receive an error trying to synchronize with a CVS repository.

Here is the error we receive:

Problems reported while synchronizing CVS Workspace. 0 of 1 resources were
synchronized.

An error occurred synchronizing /Amica: Error fetching file revisions

   Error fetching file revisions

An error has occurred processing file
'd:/cvs/AmicaWeb2006June/Amica/Resources/Properties/Auto/Application/makeModel.properties
1.1.2.4'

Here is the scenario:

User "A" makes a change to a module and commits the change
User "B" attempts to synchronize his/her workspace with the repository.

Once the error occurs we are still able to commit and update, it is just
Synchronize that is "broken".

We are running Eclipse 3.1.2   M20060118-1600
and... CVSNT 2.0.5

I have done some looking around and found a statement in the "new and
noteworthy" that support for CVSNT is at the 2.0.58B or higher level.
However when I look at the CVSNT site they report that the latest version of
the server is 2.5.03.2260

Here is the link to the "new and noteworthry":
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.1-200506271435/eclipse-news-part1c.html

Keep in mind that this is the "new and noteworthy" from 3.1 and not 3.1.2. I
checked there and there was notrhing regarding CVSNT that I could see.

So, my question becomes...is there a minimal requirement for CVSNT and if
so, what is the actual release of CVSNT that is required. Clearly, the one
on cvsnt.org is old and makes no sense since it digresses the release
number.
