[platform-core-dev] Source Code - Core to study

Hi, my name's Eduardo and I live on Brazil.

I used the eclipse for last so many years  and would like to know if can I change the source (it's open source?).

I guess that the eclipse is so slow for me and I would like of remove some plugins, I want stay just with that I need. 

Case not will be possible, I'm analyzing make one editor like Atom with the following features: compiler, debugger and hot deploy.
