During this test pass, one thing to look at is the new import/export
preferences feature we added last week. This is manifested in the UI in the
preferences dialog.  It exports preferences to an external file, and allows
you to later re-import those preferences, overwriting all existing
preferences in the process.  It checks for plugin version compatibility on
import, and warns the user if they are importing preferences belonging to a
different plugin version from the currently installed set. The only way to
test this compatibility checking is to either to hack the plugin versions
in your install, or hack the exported preferences file.
