Hi,
I have tested my change on OSX - seems to be ok too.

I'll improve the performance by precomputing the points of the curve (the cosine part), leaving scaling and translation to be done on the fly. 
The issue is just the width of the center panel - I presume it doesn't change after the TextMergeViewer has been constructed?
