Hi,

I had a similar problem some times ago.

Then I've set up my ant 1.6b2 as described in newsletter article
"[news.eclipse.platform] Ant 1.6 integration From: Venkatesh Prasad
Ranganath Date: Sun, 09 Nov 2003 18:31:35 -0600" and all works great. 

I think the problem was that the ant.jar from
eclipse\plugins\org.apache.ant_1.5.3 was always loaded before the
ant_1.6.2.jar as configured in the ant config panel.
