RE: [photran-dev] Final Beta, Release Soon?

Hi Jeffry,

I've submitted an update to Intel Fortran compiler integration to
bugzilla recently (bug
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=226568 ).

Could we include this in the forthcoming beta release?

Thanks,
Mikhail

Subject: [photran-dev] Final Beta, Release Soon?

We could conference call about this, but it's probably easier to just do

it in e-mail.

I would like to release a final beta sometime soon (maybe this week?)
and, if possible, schedule a release review and release before May 15.
Here's the status of things and where I think we can reasonably be
before then.

Bugs fixed/features added since 4.0b3:
- VPG caching (improves analysis and refactoring performance)
- Fixed minor syntax highlighting bugs
- Fixed "Error Synchronizing VPG" when project closed/deleted
- Added "Fortran Application" launcher
- Syntax error marker in Outline positions on erroneous token
- ICElement derivatives have full location information

New features that can probably be added before beta 4:
- Matching paren/bracket highlighting
- Find All References (when Analysis enabled on project)

Other things to do before the release:
- Create an update site
- Create a Windows installer which includes gfortran, gdb, make, ...
- Create a source build
- Outstanding parser bugs? (Bugzilla 212606)
- Outstanding syntax highlighting bugs?

Things discussed which we/I can't reasonably include yet:
- Open Fortran Parser integration (more difficult than anticipated)
- Fortran 2003/2008 support
- C preprocessor support (CDT CPP won't work with our refactoring ngn)
- Content assist
- CDT DOM visitor compatibility
- Enormous Fortran test suite, scalability tests

Please send comments and feedback. Did I miss anything?

Of course, if anyone wants to help with any of this (esp. update site,
Windows installer, documentation, testing, other?), it would be
appreciated.

Jeff
