Ok, the training image is back in place as per Ian’s request and Nathan et al have fixed the “wide right nav overflowing footer” problem.

This is ready to push live:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/indexPROMO.php

Please reply all with a +1 and I’ll push at 3.

Oh, Nathan told me to whack it but I guess that was just for testing the right-nav-too long problem.

Please stand by.

Thanks to Nathan’s rightcolumnwide fix, I think it looks great and I’m looking for three +1’s to push live:

Now it is time to work it into the /downloads/ page.  You can see a mock-up of my proposal here:

Note that I still have to get some help from Nate, Denis (or anyone else who can help) to make the midcolumn play nice with the rightcolumn given the rightcolumn needs to be 200px to be consistent with the home page.

I think we've all agreed the home page can have noticeable inconsistencies with the rest of our pages, such as a wider right column, but do we mind extending that 'privilege' to other pages as well, such as /downloads?  Personally I don't really mind...  We could perhaps add a new rightcolumn definition so that it can be standard across our site:

        <div id="rightcolumn" style="width:200px !important">

Could become:

        <div id="rightcolumnwide">

If you think this jives, please open a bug and we'll implement wide right columns.  In the case of /downloads, it sure makes my top-10 look better!!

Denis

Also note there is a 468x60 leader board centered on bottom of page.

Comments?  Advice on how to fix the midcolumn/rightcolumn linkage?

Don
